The League
of Young Voters Education Fund (LYVEF) empowers young people nationwide
to participate in the democratic process –with a focus on non-college
youth from low-income communities and communities of color. LYVEF
makes civic engagement relevant by meeting young people where they are,
working on issues that affect their lives, and providing them with tools,
training, and support to become viable players in the civic process.
Founded in 2003, LYVEF has become one of the strongest nonpartisan youth
civic engagement organizations in the country, having incubated major
local affiliate organizations with 3-4 paid staff on the ground in four
states: Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Maine, and Wisconsin. We also run
smaller projects in Florida, Ohio, Minnesota, California and Missouri
as well as innovative national programming to support young people in
dozens of additional states.
